The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly methods of walking around.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have pressed up the price of oil, the problem of sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.

In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is benefiting from the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing lucrative too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
